So, when I saw these scarves made out of t-shirts, I just had to give them a try. I teach some pre-teen girls at church and thought that these would be the perfect Christmas gift for them. I thought it was about time that I share my new office with my peeps. This space is in our basement and was completely empty beforehand...darn no "before" pic, sorry :( So after a little begging, my wonderful hubby:

I made a new friend on Etsy.

She is the cutest and makes the cutest stuff. I purchased these adorable mini pennant flags for our kid's playroom...and they look so cute. Then I decided..."I have to have one of those dresses too." So this little number is being made as we speak. I can't wait to dress little Hazel in it for church. Uh seriously...over 3 months and no new blog posts? I knew you were thinking it. Admit it. I've been bad, very bad. But I can explain...it all started with the holidays and then my hubby graduated (yay!) and then we moved several states away (did I mention right before Christmas?), and then me got settled in. Blah, blah, blah. You get it. I've been busy. Not to mention that my hubby is building me a "studio" or so they are called. I'm over the moon excited. You should be to! I'll be so much more productive this way, right? That's what I've been telling myself. Not to mention, that it's pretty! I'll be sure to post some pics once it's finished, promise. Until then you will just have to listen to me talk about it :)

So, my shop is now OPEN. You may not have noticed, since it there isn't a lot of activity over there. But there is good reason. I'm taking things a little slower, hey I moved to the Midwest, that's what I'm suppose to do, right? I've been trying to stock up on some fan favorites and wait patiently for my work space to be completed (no rush, hun. well maybe a little rush). I can always tell when football season is in full swing (not that my hubby parked on the couch watching isn't a clue already) when I get lots of requests for custom college football pacifier clips. Here are some custom game day clippies and a pacifier clip for VA Tech I made for one of my good friends, as well as a UVA paci clip for one of her friends and a cute orange headband for her to sport on game days...

I was recently asked by one of my dear friends to create some headbands for the daughter of one of her friends from back home {so the friend of a friend's daughter, got it?} This sweet little girl, whom I have never met was recently diagnosed with leukemia. My heart just ached for her as I read her story here. I jumped at the chance to help in some small way. Here are some headbands that I made for little Cami, that she can wear as she loses her hair from this nasty disease. I plan to have some available in my shop in the coming weeks, and will be donating half of the proceeds to help her family. Keep your eyes peeled for these one-of-a-kind headbands, coming soon.

I've been working on some new Romance headbands. They have a bit of a vintagey, romantic feel, with some sweet appeal of course. Perfect for your little lady or Mommies alike. My only problem is packaging...grr. All of my other products are somewhat flat and easy to ship. These on the other hand need to be shipped differently. Any suggestions? Once I get that figured out I'll be selling them in my shop. So, for now, here is a little preview of what's to come.

Please, please excuse my lack of blogging. A week on vacation turned into a month apparently! This was not my intention....however it sure was nice to have a break. A year!

I can hardly believe it's almost been a year since I first opened up my Etsy shop. I still remember the first few days after I opened it and listed some things. I was so proud of myself. Ha! I'd been selling regularly to people I knew, but now I was hoping strangers would buy too. I waited and waited anxiously as a few days went by. And then finally, a SALE! I mean who wants to be the first sale, anyway? Needless to say, I was {and still am} very grateful to the unknown brave soul who took a chance on me and those of you who continue to take a chance on me. I've been so blessed to keep so busy and even score some amazing wholesale clients. Cranberries & Capers are now offered all over the world, believe it or not {I can't}. I feel so honored to have been featured by many blogs and even magazines. How cool is that? I keep having friends ask me if I'm getting bored yet, and I'm honestly not. I love what I do and continue to enjoy exercising my creative side.

To celebrate this momentous one year reunion {well, not really, it just so happens to coinscide with a family trip we're taking!}, I will be out of town for a bit. I'm so excited to see my friends and family on the west coast. Until I return, here is a little preview of what I've been working on...

In an effort to complete & PRETTY up our Easter outfits for this year {not that they aren't pretty...but no outfit is complete without accessories, in my biased opinion :) }, I knew my girls, and myself of course, needed some pretty hair accessories for the day. So I got to work, and came up with these cute headbands. I've used these materials before, but haven't ever sold anything like these in the past. But, they were just so pretty, I had to share. They were a custom order for a customer, who provided photos of just what she wanted them to look like...so helpful! Now it's off to finish up some other orders!

Yes, I know I'm late...very LATE! Christmas has long been over, but I just had to post this picture of one little happy customer, sporting one of my Christmas tree paci clips. Isn't he the cutest? This little guy is the proud owner of many pacifier clips {what a nice mom he has!}...and I hear he is the talk of his school (or so his mom says). Glad I could help with his "cool kid" image.

Ok, I'd hardly call it WORK, when I enjoy it so much...but I thought I'd share a few custom things I've been working on lately. First was an inspiration from my recent collaboration with a fellow Etsy seller, that I've mentioned before {marlinsmom.etsy.com}. She made this cute onsie, which I want so badly for my little Hazel...

and I made these cute clippies to match:

Just today I made this pacifier clip for a customer. She wanted something neutral for her little girl to wear with some vintage/neutral outfits she had. I thought it turned out pretty cute. I just love doing custom work because it makes me try new things, that I may not have thought to do. I'm thinking I may add it to my shop...

Then last was a gift for a baby shower that I co-threw last night. I really love what I do, especially when it comes to baby showers! I love buying something cute for the new baby to wear {usually from Etsy} and then making some cute hair clippies or pacifier clip to match.

This particular shirt I purchased was from Target. Don't you just love Target? Then I made some baby snap clips to match as well as a fabric flower with a headband, just in case she didn't have hair :)

I am so excited for Valentine's Day this year. I don't think I've ever been this excited in years past. I think it may have something to do with my pink & red obsession right now. Here are a few Valentine themed items in my shop at the moment. And there may even be more coming! I just can't stop!

I had a fellow Etsian {Marlinsmom} contact me a few days ago, to see if I would be willing to make her some clippies to match this tee for her daughter. She wanted to link my clippies to this adorable tee in her shop as well. I was thrilled, because, let's be honest, this tee is so stinkin' cute! After a day or so of staring at it, I had to buy one for my little Hazel! After all, she has so many clippies to match already! I can't wait for it to come in the mail...it's like Christmas all over again! I can justify it because her 1st birthday is less than a week away!

So, here are the clippies I made for her...

It isn't a secret that Miss H loves her binky. All of my kids have....no wonder I like to make pacifier clips so much! Although Miss H happens to be sick today {how mean am I to take a picture of her all sick and sleepy!}...I just had to show my newest favorite binky clip {Sweet Oatmeal} in action...although not the best shot, keep in mind. It and many others were lifesavers as we were traveling over Thanksgiving. I mean how gross is it to drop your child's only binky on an airplane floor and then pick it back up and give it to them? Gross! Needless to say, it worked like a charm :)

*Just as a sidenote, I did steal the clip from her after this shot, as to not become a hazard.

My family & I are back from our extended Thanksgiving vacation to Washington! We had such a good time seeing family and relaxing. Among other things, you can imagine that we also allotted some time for crafts {pictured below}!

Now that~

the bags are unpacked.

the laundry is clean and put away {for now}!

the house is clean {thanks to a wonderful surprise from my hubby}!

I'm just thrilled to be introducing these new fabric peonies! I just love how versatile they are! They come attached to an alligator clip--which can be attached to a stretchy headband for older girls...

My daughter wore this one to school today...and she was ecstatic about it!

So, I was working on some layered felt clippies the other day and my 5 year old daughter insisted that she help me. I love her to help, but it's a little hard when there is HOT glue, SHARP scissors, & a need for attention to DETAIL involved. So, we came up with a solution...she made paper clippies! The perfect project for a girl that goes through paper like no other {she's a budding artist}. She's pretty good with {kid friendly} scissors, don't you think? It was a fun way to share my clippy love with her...other than the fact that she gets to wear the ones I make :)

Thought I would share a couple of my favorites from my endless Etsy browsing...first is this key fob, which I actually own. It's so cute and SO handy. I clipped this baby on my keys and now I don't have to look like a janitor when I don't have my purse with me and I'm running in somewhere. Also, it helps me find my keys easier in my purse, and I just slip it on, and...well, but you get the idea. I bought mine here, along with a cute reversible headband for those "I don't have time to do my hair days." I also just found this site here with lots of key fob options.

Next is this cute card. Not only is it a card, but you plant it and it grows flowers! What a cute idea, right? You can find it here.
